Role of the scientific council Composition of the scientific council Comptes rendus de réunions
The Scientific Council of AFM means to be a forum of exchanges between the various components of AFM and in particular the GST. One of its top priorities is to define, promote or to encourage transverse scientific actions in the field of mechanics broadly speaking. In particular, the Scientific Council seeks to support the emergence of national actions on transverse themes, associating academics with industrialists.. In 2004, 2 such projects were initiated by the Council of AFM : -
the ‘High Speed and Emerging Processes’ project ; a scaled--down version of the project was supported by the CETIM Foundation whereas a broader one is under way (project leader : J.L. Chenot). -
‘Multidisciplinary Optimization Project’ : the scaled-down version of this project has been submitted to the CETIM Foundation(project leader : R. Leriche) Another aspect of its activities is related to the assessment of the scientific proposals emanating from the members of AFM and the endorsement of scientific events.. In 2007 the Scientific Council has decided to lay the emphasis on both ‘sustainable development’ and ‘environment’ and in particular to organize a Conference devoted to the ‘contributions of mechanical sciences to‘sustainable development’ to be held next March. | |
